Pixelache Festival 2021: Nature as Magic
The live visual performance explores the spirituality of nature experiences. Forest scenes are portrayed in a way that invites the viewer to imagine the presence of fairies, gnomes, forest gods and other mythological creatures and spirits.

Performers:
Merle Karp (Folded Visuals) is a Helsinki-based live visual and video artist. Her work often deals with her relationship with nature, as well as technology and dreams. In her work, she aims to evoke feelings of both comfort and unease.
She is the artistic director and a co-founder of Aavistus Festival and she has performed or exhibited, among others, at Polar Night Light Festival at Ruka, Norbergfestival in Sweden, I Land Sound in Estonia, Aufwind in Austria, Kazakhstan Central Concert Hall and Hear Art - See Sound festival in Armenia.

Hendrik Kaljujärv is e⁻lektron's tech-artistic brain and one of the organizers of e⁻lektron's experimental program “fruitful misunderstandings. art+science”. He is a composer and performer. Performs music with Karl Saks (Cubus Larvik) and Maarja Nuut. Hendrik has a solo project called "ruum". Has created music for many productions and directed himself.

Pixelache is a Transdisciplinary Platform for Emerging Art, Design, Research and Activism, organised by the non-profit association Piknik Frequency ry. It consists of an annual festival in Helsinki, as well as participatory art-science and technology productions, public events, educational programmes, residencies and other activities. Between 2021-2022, Pixelache will reach its 20th year anniversary, and Pixelache Helsinki Festival is currently one of the longest running cultural festivals in Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea region, that continues to promote emergent inter- and trans-disciplinary practices and thinking between art, design, technology, research and activism.
