OPEN CALL for absent translators / elektron.signal podcast
[EST allpool | РУС ниже]
What is the sound of your encounter with an art piece?
“absent translations” is an experimental format of elektron.signal podcast. It’s an attempt at transferring sensual, (non)sensible, often visual, sometimes silent encounters with arts and culture into auditory pieces. Each episode is an individual reflection, immediate, often raw experience of an art work or event, be it an exhibition visit, performance, book, film, or a compound of those (and not only). Our aim is to create a space for experimentation and exploration. To pass on the experience of witnessing something to the listeners who either have or have not shared similar encounters. To open up the works for diverse audiences.
We are inviting you to join the team of our translators and to share your voice with us. An absent translator’s responsibility is to create approximately 1-2 episodes (of up to 30 minutes each) every 2 months. You choose yourself the subject, the structure and the duration of your translation.
The format exists in three languages and you are free to work with any of those, Estonian, English and Russian.
You can be based anywhere in the world.
We offer a fixed fee of 50 EUR netto per published episode and coverage of entrance tickets to museums/galleries/performances etc*.
